Where To Take Your Books?

When you have parted yourself mentally with all the books that you know you will not read again, that are not of the subject that interests you or that simply you do not care too much for them; comes the time to make the decision as to where to leave them.  Taking the books to a second hand bookstore could be the best decision if you want to make some money out of the small library that you are getting rid of.

However, be advised that second hand bookstores are also a business and, as such, they tend to buy books “by the bulk” meaning that they will not pay you for each book individually.  Nonetheless, there are some particularly hard to find books that deserve an extra special attention, and that they might be able to provide you with an additional fee; the determination of such books are entirely up to the second hand bookstore owner so do not get your hopes up.

The other alternative that you have is to donate your books to a public or semi-public library or an association that will take them to people that want to read them like a hospice or a hospital.  However, be advised that public libraries and associations have people who are prone to butchering books, writing on them and tearing the pages off from them.

A semi-public library might be the ideal solution if you are still concerned about your books; semi-public libraries are those in private institutions such as schools and the like. Or recycle them!
